Tour the refugee rights movement with an expert – a refugee!

When our refugee project coordinator LORNA is not working for GSBTB, she’s working as a tour guide making Berlin’s turbulent history understandable for anyone interested.

Last weekend she kicked off a fabulous new initiative combining her two jobs, making more recent history “in the making” understandable. It’s called “Refugee Voices Solidarity Tours in Berlin”. There is of course not one singular “refugee voice” but many, many voices and stories. These tours are through the areas surrounding the heart of the refugee rights movement in Berlin.

All of the guides are themselves have varying refugee status and have been involved in the refugee rights movement for the last few years seeing and living all this from the inside. They have a lot to teach us about how it is to live as a refugee in Germany and Europe.

The tours are looking to be a regular event, so keep an eye out on their Facebook page for upcoming tours. The next tour is on Saturday 28th November at 14.00 – sign up here.

The tours are on a donation basis and the money goes directly to the tour guides themselves.
