Madeline McKay is GSBTB's summer intern. Coming all the way from Philadelphia, USA, she is currently studying Women, Gender Studies and Art at Bates College.

GSBTB Communications Intern Abeera Atif is originally from Pakistan. Hailing from Lahore, she came to Germany in 2013 to pursue higher education in the city of Bremen, where she was first introduced to the complexities of welcoming newcomers.

Sinéad Walsh kehrte kürzlich in ihre Heimatstadt Dublin zurück, nachdem sie als sehr engagierte ehrenamtliche Helferin im Team des GSBTB Open Art Shelter mitgearbeitet hatte. Zurück in Dublin war ein Foto der Auslöser dafür, ihre Eindrücke und Erlebnisse aus ihrer Zeit im Frauenzimmer der Unterkunft für Geflüchtete im ehemaligen Flughafen Tempelhof aufzuschreiben.

At the GSBTB Christmas team-up event last year, we hosted a jam session for musicians in our community. The very next day we read the news that one of the performers, Aeham Ahmad, had just been awarded the International Beethoven Prize for Human Rights, Peace, Inclusion and the Fight Against Poverty.
